PIN TIA (p-i-n photodiode - transimpedance amplifier) is a conventional photodetector. It has a simpler structure compared to APD TIA and is therefore less expensive. PIN TIA does not have the avalanche effect, and therefore, its sensitivity and gain are lower. However, due to its simpler structure, PIN TIA has a relatively lower noise level.
The 155Mbps InGaAs/InP PIN-TIA TO46 is an optical receiver that operates at long wavelengths up to 1650nm and has high sensitivity for detecting weak signals. It is ideal for use in fiber optic communication systems and high-speed data transmission.
